What's the difference between a Company and a Contact?

Companies are businesses (GCs, lenders, suppliers) that can be assigned to tasks and expenses. Contacts are specific individuals (sellers, buyers, employees) stored for database and communication purposes.

Companies

Companies are Businesses, Companies, Subcontractors, or Suppliers you do business with on your projects. For example, Home Depot, your General Contractors, Painters, Real Estate Broker, Lender, Title Company, etc.

Contacts

Contacts are employees in a Company or any random individual you need to store in your database. Contact Examples: A potential buyer, a home seller, your mother-in-law etc.

Software Functionality Differences

One of the key differences between Companies and Contacts, is Companies can be assigned to your Project Schedule Tasks and assigned to Expenses.
