Can I bulk import or update materials using the FlipperForce API?

Yes. The Public API supports the Material Catalog, so you can import materials in bulk and refresh your pricing programmatically or with an AI agent.

Yes. The FlipperForce Public API supports the Material Catalog, so materials no longer have to be added one product link at a time.

What the API can do

  • List every material in your catalog
  • View a single material
  • Create a new material
  • Update an existing material, including its price
  • Delete a material

Each material supports a title, price, unit of measure, supplier company, category, product URL, SKU, internet SKU, thumbnail image, and notes.

Importing your past purchase history

If you have years of buying history in a supplier account, that history is a materials list you have already paid for. Export it, then have a script or an AI agent read the export and create a material in your catalog for each item. We tested this with a Home Depot purchase history export and loaded over 200 items in a single run.

The same approach works for a materials spreadsheet you have been keeping outside FlipperForce.

Keeping your pricing current

Material prices move, and a catalog built six months ago is feeding six-month-old numbers into your estimates. You can point an AI agent at your catalog, have it read every material, look up current pricing from the product URL on each item, and write the updated prices back.

Review the proposed changes before they are saved. Pricing lookups can be wrong, and a bad price in your catalog flows straight into your repair estimates.

Getting started

Request an API key from Workspace Settings, then Integrations. Full endpoint documentation is at tools.flipperforce.com/docs/api. Ready-to-run prompts for both jobs above are in the AI Prompt Library.

Things to know

  • There is no single bulk upload endpoint. A large import creates materials one at a time, so pace large runs to avoid rate limiting.
  • The Material Catalog is an All-in-One feature, so API access to it follows your plan.
  • Categories must be one of the standard FlipperForce material categories. Custom categories are not supported.
